Wordle: Word Clouds
Created by Jonathan Feinberg and the IBM Corporation, these beautiful word clouds are an excellent organizational and visual expression tool, and offers a variety of useful applications for library instruction. In this lesson students were working on character analysis. They chose a biography or fiction of their choice, completed teacher created character analysis graphic organizers and used Wordle to portray the most significant personality traits of their characters.
The Wordle above was created by a student, just for fun, after he learned how to use the application. Can you tell what his subject was? How did you know? What are the visual cues you see here? This is an excellent tool for differentiating instruction.
