Shelf Elf Club
The Shelf Elf Club was created to encourage a sense of investment in the library, teach library organization and research skills and to foster a sense of belonging and ownership. The students are responsible for organizing their own shelves, which are labeled crediting each student for their work. We develop our policies together and rotate responsibilites. We work alongside one another as colleagues during the club.
Students are also taught the value of the work they were doing, in terms of achieving their personal goals for the future. They are taught how to create volunteer resumes and are given time at the computer bank to update them as necessary.
